Imperial Calendar
Overview
The Imperial Calendar is the standard reckoning of time across much of the known world. It originated during the height of the Palyran Empire, but was later codified and enforced by the Edranic Empire, which unified administration and faith under the cycles of the moons and the Imperial Lunar Religion.
Structure
- 360 days per year
- 8 months, each 45 days, based on the cycle of Yova
- Weeks?
- Seasons spanning approximately 2 months
The calendar is intentionally regular, prioritizing administration over astronomy.
Alignment
Rare triple alignments of all three moons occur roughly once every 12 years.
These events were historically used by the Empire to justify rulings and declarations of divine favour.
